The Cultural Section promotes Argentine arts and culture through activities that help convey the diversity and richness of our country, specially fostering the presentation of Argentine artists living in Argentina or in the United States.
Many activities are held throughout the year, such as bi-monthly art exhibitions open to the public (curated by artist Alfredo Ratinoff), tango classes, films and concerts at the Embassy, as well as in the six General Consulates of Argentina in different cities of the U.S. The Embassy also promotes Argentine arts and culture in cooperation with recognized U.S. institutions.
The Embassy held events at the Kennedy Center in partnership with institutions such as the Choral Arts Society, the Pan-American Symphony Orchestra and Dance Chamber Project (CDP) among others Art organization in the DC area.
More than 10 Argentine films were presented at festivals such as the Environmental Film Festival, the AFI Latin American Film Festival, the Jewish Film Festival and the DC International Film Festival. In addition, Argentina participates in FotoWeekDC, a yearly photography festival organized by FotoDC, which brings together photojournalists, institutions, galleries and emerging artists, and offers an extensive menu of activities.
